Juan
Manuel presents "An Ocean of Music"
every Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm.
My passion for music,
which I would like to share with you, probably dates back to my childhood.
I remember that I spent most of my time listening to the Beatles and
Tchaikovsky.
I cannot say if classical
music is better than "jazz", "pop" or "world"
music, as there are no comparisons to be made; but what I can say is
that "historical" music is like a vast ocean to be explored,
for its richness and abundance of masterworks, some of which awaiting
to be rediscovered and enjoyed.
I would like to
guide you through "An ocean of music" with a careful selection
of pieces reflecting every historical period. I will use a certain sense
of chronological order that will allow you to appreciate the evolution
of musical aesthetics.
But the real criteria
is a "sense" of what beauty is, along with a taste for variety,
bringing together different styles. In other words, the proposal is
to spend a couple of hours listening to a selection of masterpieces
from every historical period in all their diversity and beauty.
This is part of
the music I like; I´ll try to do my best and learn with every
program. I hope you will enjoy it. I also would like to thank the people
in RSA who makes it possible. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!
