As
Nerja's English language community radio station, we have to satisfy
a wide range
of tastes on only one wavelength.
Our
programmes include: *Spanish
and local news, *information
and features, *interviews
and a wide
variety of music.The
BBCs World Service provides international
news every hour, whereas
the World Radio Network
gives us special scheduled programmes and overnight services from
around
the world
The
main characteristic of programming is the broad nature of its unique
music and speech mix. For music programmes, each piece must deserve
its place on air, must justify its presence and fight for its air
time. Presenters are entirely responsible for their own shows and
encouraged to express their styles in a spirit of cultural independence.
Dr. Benjamin
Dwyer, one of the founding members, remarks that RSA brings a
fresh alternative to traditional commercial broadcasting as it
features music, information, perspectives and interviews seldom
heard along the Costa del Sol. A discerning audience should be
delighted by the diverse and unorthodox programming RSA has to
offer, he concludes.
Thanks to
RSA listeners for taking the time to phone in and e-mail; presenters
appreciate the feedback good or not so good.
Regular
listener know that RSA explores many current topical issues
from being involved in doing your bit for the environment through
signing up to the Kyoto agreement, contributing to Red Nose Day,
to taking responsibility for your health and looking at ways to
heal from cancer; we've questioned Reiki healing and sought to
empower women through exploring women's issues.
We've
had wonderful guests, interviewed on their given themes in English,
German, Spanish, Danish and French all contributing to
RSA's focus of being a multi national station in a multi national
community.
