The objective
of a commercial radio is to make profit through revenue from advertisements
and publicity, and/or to support a money-making commercial operation.
A socio- cultural
radio has a mission. In our case, it is
- To improve,
promote and encourage intercultural understanding and collaboration
through educational, cultural, social, artistic and creative activities,
including, but not limited to, the use of cultural radio as the
voice of the community.
Also, the style
is quite different: a socio- cultural radio is independent from
commercial pressures and can experiment more with a wider range
of programmes.
